Head Start for Safety

The Head Start for Safety Project is an initiative which provides education for Head Start workers on the intersection of domestic violence, child protective services, substance abuse and the role of Head Start in offering safe and helpful responses to families in crisis. Additionally, the Head Start for Safety Committee has developed model policy and procedures for use by staff in Head Start settings. The Project focus on health and safety for children and adult victims of domestic violence includes making the connection between abuse and issues such as oral health, substance abuse and providing materials and training to address these concerns.
